Alex Tabarrok escribe estas nota en Marginal revolution y Steven Levitt hace lo propio en Freakonomics, es muy importante leer los comentarios que hacen de las notas. Es bueno aclarar nuevamente que el Premio de Elinor Strom es una verdadera SORPRESA y creo que tiene muchísimas implicaciones para la profesión y la forma como metodologicamente la misma funciona, por eso recomiendo que lean los comentarios.
La nota de Levitt creo que es esclarecedora respecto a este punto, de ella, me quedo con este párrafo:
"So the short answer is that the economics profession is going to hate the prize going to Ostrom even more than Republicans hated the Peace prize going to Obama. Economists want this to be an economists’ prize (after all, economists are self-interested). This award demonstrates, in a way that no previous prize has, that the prize is moving toward a Nobel in Social Science, not a Nobel in economics"

"Cheers to the Nobel committee for recognizing work on one of the deepest issues in economics. Bravo to the political scientist who showed that she was a better economist than the economic imperialists who can’t tell the difference between assuming and understanding"
